He was born 1812 in Allendale, NBL, and died Aft. 1855 in Dawden, DUR (Seaham
Harbour). He was the son of John Leonard and Sarah Short. The family lived in
Allendale to 1839, in Shotley Bridge, DUR 1840-1846, in Stanhope 1847-1849. John
was a builder in Dawden (Seaham) 1851 to 1855.
John Westgarth,
was christened at St Thomas, Stanhope 13 May 1778; died 11 Jul 1849 in Stanhope,
DUR4 and was buried there 14 July. He was the son of Joseph
Westgarth and Mary Blackett. He married Ann Place6
29 Dec 1798 in St Thomas, Stanhope, DUR5. She was born Aug
1778 - Aug 1779 in Haltwhistle, NBL and died 2 Aug 1859 in Stanhope, Durham age
806 . She was buried there 5 Aug7. She was
the daughter of Anthony Place and Ann
